How to do a Knitted Cast On

1. This cast-on ensures a looser cast on which is useful for projects involving entrelac and also to add stitches in the middle of a row. You do not need a long tail for this particular cast on.

2. Create a basic slip knot. To make a slip knot, make a loop with your yarn. In the left hand, take your fingers, go through the loop, and grab the working portion of your yarn through the loop which creates a knot. Gently snug the knot on your working needle, ensuring that the knot is not too tight as you want your stitches to be a bit loose, making them easier to work with!

3. With your right hand needle, snug it up and transfer it to your left hand.

4. With your second needle, knit a stitch and bring the left hand needle around twisting the stitch and putting it onto the left hand needle.
