I would really like to start knitting for charity, but how do I get started? Does anyone have any ideas or charities for which they knit?

Laura - If you go to lionbrand.com they have a whole section set aside for charities, including what they need and how to contact them.  Hope that helps. Hannah

Laura-  Also check with your local hospitals. Many neonatal intensive care units can use preemie hats, mitts and blankets.

Contact your local homeless shelter.  If you live where there is cold weather they would probably welcome scarves, mittens, hats, and socks.

You may also try to contact your local churches. At the chuch my mother goes to the children asked for a blanket of their one and one little girl asked for socks that were not hand me downs.

I do volunteer work for the school nurse at my eldest's school. You'd be surprised what kids need and want. You could try that too.

Stop by any hospital with some hats. That way it will help save infants lives.
