I am knitting this sweater for myself. I like the rainbow (Arc En Ciel) colors of this katia yarn. It grows really fast.
I have never done tubular casting before so I was itching to try it out. It turned out to be really easy. I put down the level of difficulty as “Difficult” simply because newbies would find tubular casting as daunting • but don’t be!
Also, this pattern has about 16 rows of lace work but I was so engrossed in knitting the front as well as watching “Dancing With the Stars” that I forgot about starting the lace portion of the sweater. That was the whole idea of knitting this sweater - I loved the lace work! I decided to start it as soon as I remembered as I was not about to rip out all that I have knitted! I do find that although I followed the lace work instructions, I am not getting the pattern as shown in the pattern book. However, I am not a perfectionist - so I don't worry about such things - c'est la vie! Has anyone knitted this sweater up? It was offered as a kit by JimmyBeansWool last year.
I did shorten the length abit because I have a short torso and I also adjust the decreases and increases for the waist to accomodate my shorter torso.
So far, I have finished the back and now the front and I am working on the first sleeve. I cannot wait to finish it in time for spring! |
